Our Story

A few years ago, while facing a foster care issue, I was introduced to ICNA’s FATE Program and saw firsthand how profoundly a Will and Trust can shape a family’s future in the United States.

It began when a child protection officer explained that children could be placed in foster care if their parents hadn’t named a legal guardian. Around the same time, I learned of a tragic case involving an Indian family who lost their lives in a car accident—leaving behind one surviving child. The grandparents spent months battling legal hurdles just to bring that child home, simply because no estate plan existed.

Those experiences opened my eyes. With guidance from the team at NetLaw, I discovered how essential—and surprisingly affordable—estate planning can be when families have the right support. More recently, I helped a family create their Will and Trust, and the relief they expressed reminded me why this work matters so deeply.
